The logo work displayed below is the most recent of my freelancing jobs completed for Josh, the founder of The Boston Barber Exchange.
Josh came to me with a very clear vision for his up and coming barbershop located in the Financial District of Boston, MA. As his shop is nestled within the financial district, he wanted his logo to reflect a historic part of the city that hearkens back to the look and feel of currency. That's where my job began - to research different fonts and design variations of both his logotype and a short-hand logo for his storefront and site.
As you can see below, Josh was very much in-line with what he wanted the end result to look like. As someone who believes in variation, I sent him composites of different options in both black and white, which we narrowed down to the final files you see below. Ultimately, these designs needed to be elegant and distinct to stand out in the Boston ecosystem. I can't wait to see how the city receives this new powerhouse in high-end grooming!
Below are the initial concept composites for Josh and his logos.
And here are the final images he requested from the bunch, in both black and white.
